My family get-together

Over Easter weekend we got to have a picnic with some out of town family members who we don't get to see very often. My cousin and his family were in from Colorado and his sister, from St. Louis, were all there for Easter. We had a nice time seeing them and all their kids. My Uncle D, also turned 60 and Pumpkin and my nephew, L, turned 3 so we had cake and cupcakes for them.  All the cousins, ranging in age from 16 to 6 weeks, they were quite a crew!

After the picnic, we went to L's 3rd birthday party.  My sister-in-law and brother had it at a really cool place, the fire station.  They had a community room where we ate and had cake and then got to go down and look at the fire trucks.  The kids loved it!

The firemen did a whole talk about fire safety, which was really good and the kids got to crawl around inside the fire truck.  The firemen spent a lot of time with the kids.

One of the firemen suited up so the kids would know what a fireman looked like if they were actually in a fire and so they wouldn't be scared if someone came into their house looking like that.  I thought it was funny that they said that if the kids were in a fire (especially if their bedrooms were on the second floor) to start throwing toys or things out the window so that the firemen knew someone was in that room.   They also said to throw things at the firemen (soft things, obviously), because when they are wearing their gear, they can't hear very well and might miss a small child in a fire.

Again, Pumpkin is not afraid of people wearing costumes, etc.  She just went right up and hugged him.

Easter egg hunt

A's work has a big Easter egg hunt every year.  It is so big they have to break the kids up into ages.  Of course, that is not as big as our church's Easter egg hunt which has over 35,000 eggs.   We've never been because we are always out of town :-(.    Anyway, they have face painting and balloon sculptors (don't know what they are actually called) and games and the Easter bunny.  Pumpkin had a nice time.

After the hunt, she was happy with 4 or 5 eggs, I like that she didn't have to fill up her basket to be happy!

She has no fear of Easter bunnies or people in costumes, thank goodness.

These pictures are from March 20th so he still looks pretty yellowy from his jaundice here.  I think he is finally starting to get rid of the yellow out of his eyes, it has taken it forever to go away.

Pictures of Jellybean

Sorry for my slow posting, it just doesn't seem like I can get organized enough to sit down and post pictures.  Jellybean has been kind of fussy the last couple of days.  I got about 3 hours of sleep per night last weekend, he just did not want to lay flat.  Every time we would lay him down, he would pitch a fit.  I ended up sitting up and holding him one night just to get him to sleep for a little while.
The following pictures are from March 16th and 17th, so he is quite a bit bigger now.  He weighs 11 lbs 13 oz. as of Monday when I took him to the pediatrician.  He is a cute little guy, but he has a terrible case of baby acne.  We're hoping it goes away soon.

Little brother and big sis.  The question I most hear is "how does she do with him?"  I have to say she does great, she really doesn't pay him too much attention at this point.  When I nurse him during the day, I read to her quite a bit so she is getting a lot of reading time and attention that way.    I don't see any jealousy yet, she will give him kisses and talk about baby brother.

Love these 2 pictures of Pumpkin and her ice cream face.  She LOVES ice cream.  She is just like her daddy in that respect.  Please disregard the too-short shirt, that is what you get when you let a 3 year old pick out her own clothes!
