First Easter Egg Hunt

On Saturday we went to A's work where they had kids Easter activities and an Easter egg hunt. The hunt consisted of a really large piece of green carpeting covered in eggs (it was snowing outside). Pumpkin didn't really get the concept because when they said go, she just sat there and watched everyone else. She finally got started and grabbed one egg and then sat and watched everyone else. She came away with 3 eggs but she made a new friend as you can see from the picture below.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Hi everyone, Pumpkin just wanted to wish you a happy St. Patrick's Day. She is currently sitting in her high chair eating peas in honor of the occasion. Here are some pics I took earlier. "Hi, would you like to play with my block?"
"Ha ha, no way am I going to let you have this block!"
"This is my stinker face." The stinker face is usually followed by a snort.
"Oh boy, I'm having way too much fun."
She had her first big cut a couple of days ago. It was on her cheek and Mommy finally thought (3 hours after it happened), "Gosh, I hope it doesn't scar"! So I called the nurseline and they thought it sounded small enough not to be an issue. Anyway, it is going away quickly. Thank goodness she has her daddy's healing power.

Mommy seems to take a lot of pictures of me in the high chair. Perhaps it is because I am actually holding still in it. I like to hang my head over sometimes because I know I am soooo cute when I do it.

Peekaboo

Well, it has been quite the week. Lucy, our dog, went to the vet a couple of weeks ago because she had been whining and crying a lot when we touched her head or neck. It turns out they think she has some auto-immune thing where the muscles in her head have atrophied. They put her on a steroid that makes her hungry and really thirsty. Then we wake up on Tuesday and notice that she has had several accidents on the carpet and she has blood in her urine. Back to the vet for more antibiotics for a bladder infection. She has been locked up in our kitchen for 3 days until the antibiotics have a chance to work. Of course, the dog doesn't want to take her medicine so I have had to make oatmeal to stick the pills into. Oh, the vet also thinks she has underlying allergies that make her have ear infections all the time so we are trying a new food (i.e. expensive) to see if it is a food allergy or something else. At least she is looking like she is feeling better, I hate to see her looking so sad and obviously hurting.

Then, I've been doing nap training with Pumpkin and it is not going well. I put her in her crib drowsy around 9 a.m. and then she is supposed to go to sleep. HA! She just spends an hour doing laps in her crib. I took everything out of her crib (like her music box and her stuffed giraffe) so she doesn't have anything to play with and she could care less. Yesterday she just laid on her back and kicked her legs like she was doing the Jane Fonda workout and just cackled! Thank goodness the afternoon nap seems to be going slightly better, probably because she is completely exhausted from missing her morning nap. I could kick myself for not doing this earlier when she couldn't stand up. Oh well, you live and learn. Thank goodness she is still having no trouble with going to bed and sleeping through the night.

Climbing over Daddy

Our girl is getting closer to walking. She is starting to cruise on couches, her crib, etc. now. I've started nap training and she spends most of the hour when she is supposed to be sleeping standing up holding onto the crib rails. Needless to say, not a whole lot of napping is going on at our house right now.
