New sandbox
Pumpkin got a new sandbox yesterday. Her daddy made her a cool cover to go over it as well to keep out the neighborhood animals. She loved it, and she especially liked sharing the sand with her daddy.

Being crafty
Here are a couple of things I've been working on. The first is a tunic for Pumpkin made out of a man's t-shirt/undershirt. It's called a beachcomber dress, too bad we're not close to a beach!
Pumpkin modeling it. It's a little too short to wear by itself. I used a boys x-large shirt I found at a garage sale for .25, if I had used one of A's, it probably would have worked as a dress.
Back view. It was really easy to make. I got the tutorial from here: Guest Blogger ~Ruffles and Stuff~.
The next thing I made was from 2 beach towels. Okay, I made one and my Mom made the other. Thank goodness she was here, I don't think I could have gotten both done before we left to go to Branson for A's family reunion.
Mommy and Baby matching cover-ups. I used elastic thread which is a lot of fun to use, although it took 30 rows of elastic thread to shir the top part. Thankfully, Pumpkin's didn't take nearly that much. They were very simple, especially mine, just sew 30 rows of elastic thread, spray it with water and watch it shir up, then sew the edges together and sew on straps. I just used the seams on the towels, no hemming! Pumpkin's had to be cut out, but it was still easy. I used this tutorial: Beach Towel Dress. I even used the same towel as she did. This is one of my favorite blogs, she is so creative. I've even bought 2 of her patterns.
I've been working on more sewing projects, I'll try to get them posted soon. I do these refashioning projects and then always seem to forget to photograph the "before" parts. I have a new post on Pumpkin I'm hoping to post in a day or two. I won't say what it is about but you can probably guess which milestone she has hit.

Happy Father's Day
Hey everyone, it's Pumpkin here. I wanted to wish my Daddy a Happy Father's Day. He is a great Daddy and I'd like to take a minute to tell you about all the fun things we do together.
The first time I met my Daddy. He was the first face I every saw and the first person to hold me, except for my Dr. and she doesn't really count. Even though he was wearing a funny mask, I could tell he was happy to see me.
Daddy and I like to hang out on the couch. This was during the time when I cried a lot (I was a little bitty baby then) and Daddy would hold me for a really long time.
Daddy and I at the Renaissance Festival, we like to go to cool places like that. Daddy made sure I was really warm, it was so cold that day.
This was Daddy's birthday. Here I am giving him his present. Mommy wrapped it up but I picked it out.
Daddy and I the day before Easter. He was showing me some really pretty flowers and making sure I didn't eat them (I really, really wanted to, they were sooooo pretty).
I like to play with Daddy and Lucy. When Daddy comes home from work, Lucy and I are right there waiting for him. We both love him so much.
So, Happy Father's Day. You're the best Daddy I could ever hope for.

Aquatot X2
Last Wednesday night was A's night to take Pumpkin swimming. She cried for about 2 minutes and then had the best time, laughing and giggling with Daddy. Later that night he said he had such a good time with her, he was still grinning and laughing about it. Isn't he a good daddy?
I took her to her 3rd class last night and she did great. She will even kick her legs a little bit while swimming which the teacher said was great for someone her age.

Aquatot
Pumpkin had her 1st swimming lesson last night. It was a 30 minute class and she cried for the first 20 minutes. I don't know if it was because she was afraid of the water or if she just wanted her Daddy who came in right before the class started. Let's just say there was a lot of screaming, although she wasn't the only one. All of a sudden, she just relaxed and started smiling and enjoying it. I even bounced her up high and got her face splashed and she thought it was great fun. Our next class is Wednesday night and we'll see how she does then (Daddy will swim with her that night).
