Ok, taxes are finally done (they were actually done last week and mailed in on time) and I will hopefully have more time to start catching up on posts and emails which I am woefully behind on (Katherine, I promise I will return your emails soon!!). Anyway, here is a quick video of Pumpkin having a conversation with her daddy.

Pumpkin's birthday

Pumpkin had a pretty laid back birthday. We went to Red Robin for dinner which Daddy and Mommy really enjoyed. Pumpkin had baby food, but she also drank a lot of Mommy's water through a straw (when she wasn't spitting it down her front). After that we came home and had cake.
Lucy came to wish Pumpkin a Happy Birthday. Right, she just wanted to get petted.
Mommy and Pumpkin. I love this face of hers, she looks like a little chipmunk. I still don't see where she looks like me very much.
"I'm eating cake, I'm eating cake."
"Yummy, yummy, yummy."
"This is the best cake in the whole world!"
"Ha ha ha ha, I like chocolate."

Easter egg hunt

After the birthday party on Saturday morning we went to A's uncle and aunt's house and had a great dinner and then an Easter egg hunt. Oh, there was a nap in between all this for Pumpkin and me, thank goodness! Pumpkin looking for eggs. Good thing Daddy was helping her find them, some of them got hidden in some pretty tricky places. I wonder who did that? Hmmmmm.

Birthday party photos

I saw this idea for a cake on a blog (http://cococakecupcakes.blogspot.com/2009/03/hungry-caterpillar-cupcake-party-train.html) and fell in love with it and decided I had to have a "Very Hungry Caterpillar" party. My mom and I stayed up until 1:30 a.m. the night before the party icing the cakes. It was our first time to use fondant and it turned out pretty well. You probably can't tell in this picture but the green cupcakes were a greeny yellowy swirl, kind of fluorescent. We had fun mixing the icing! Mom also made a bunch of cute little flowers to put on the top of the extra cupcakes. Thanks Mom!! The feet, antenna and nose were made out of black licorice and the eyes were made out of candy.
Me and Pumpkin with the cake. We had the party at a local park with a great playground. It was swamped with kids playing soccer, we had a hard time finding parking spots.
Pumpkin eating her cupcake. I made her cupcake out of a organic mix, it was nut-free, egg-free and milk-free. A says they were taste-free as well! Actually, they were pretty tasty! She was pretty delicate, it took her a while to get going and she didn't like the icing.

Pictures from Easter/Birthday Party weekend

Here are some pictures from our big weekend. My sister-in-law planned a tea party for Pumpkin on Saturday morning. I'm holding my nephew, L, Mom is holding Pumpkin, and my sis-in-law, S, is holding my niece, M. We had a great time and great food.

After the tea party and a nap, all the kids got their pictures taken together. At the end, the photographer had 2 little birthday cakes for Pumpkin and my nephew, L, to smash and eat. Oh my, what a mess. I think both kids didn't know what to do and they both were crying by the end. My other nephew, G, knew exactly what to do with the cake. Uncle A helped him get it all over his face!
That evening, we went over to my brother and sister-in-laws for dinner and cake to celebrate E and L's birthday.
Here are the 2 cousins completely ignoring each other. L loves Pumpkin's new raincoat and Pumpkin loved playing with his toys.

Yuck!

I just caught Pumpkin putting dog food in her mouth!! Lucy has been finishing off her dog food really quickly lately because of the steroids she has been on, but now that she is off the meds, she isn't eating as much so she leaves food in her dish. Now I've really got to be doubly careful to watch Pumpkin.

Happy Birthday, Pumpkin

Here is a picture of Pumpkin with her birthday cake at her party on Saturday. I promise to post more later when I can figure out why my computer is not showing the new pictures I just took today. We had a quiet birthday and she got her first taste of chocolate cake and chocolate icing, which she really liked (the cake on Saturday was yellow cake). More pictures to follow!

Oops, it's been a long time since I've posted

Sorry I haven't been posting. I have been swamped trying to get everything ready for Pumpkin's 1st birthday party which we had last weekend. I got all crafty and made her skirt, embellished a onesie to match, sewed two fabric flag buntings for the party and my Mom and I made the cake. Whew, I'm worn out. I've spent the last 2 days recovering. Anyway, I have lots to post so I will hopefully work on that in the next week. Thursday is the big day, Pumpkin is turning one, so hard to believe.
