Staying cool

We're trying to stay cool in all this heat. Pumpkin is not having too much trouble with all her cute summer outfits. If only she wouldn't blow them out so frequently! Momma is very thankful for oxyclean.

Pumpkin is really starting to get active. She is kicking and moving around a lot. I had asked the pediatrician if he was worried that she had not started turning over yet and he said he would rather that she didn't because that would put her at more of a risk of SIDS. I try to do tummy time a couple times a day but it is not her favorite thing. As you can see below, she likes her fingers.

Pediatrician visit

We went to the pediatrician on Thursday for Pumpkin's 2 month check-up. She weighed 12 pounds 5 ounces and was 23 2/4 inches long. (At her one month visit she weighed 10 pounds 3 ounces and was 21 3/4 inches long). Our girl is growing, she is officially out of her newborn clothes and she can even wear some of her 3 month clothes. She is very talkative, she likes to oooh and ahhh. She is very smiley lately and she has started to make these high pitched squeals in the last couple of days. They're pretty loud now, I can't imagine how loud they will get!!

She got her shots at the Dr. visit and did pretty well. I nursed her right after the shots and she was making these very sad noises, Mommy cried a little right along with her. She didn't seem to have any adverse reactions to them. She is her normal self.

That night she stayed with Grandpa "H" and "C" for a couple hours while we went out for my birthday dinner. She did good and Mommy didn't cry so I view her 1st evening away from us a success.

We find the strangest animals in our yard. "A" found this last year when he was mowing. I personally think this is how our moth started out.

Mommy and her girl before church yesterday. I was so proud of her because she didn't have a blowout. Well, I'm also proud of her because she is a good baby and very, very cute, especially when she smiles!

World's largest moth

Ok, so it is probably not the world's largest moth, but it is pretty close. "A" was mowing last night and saw it and brought it to the house so I could see it. It was pretty cool, I have no idea what it is, does anybody have a clue?

I'm 8 weeks old!

Hello everyone, I'm 8 weeks old and I wanted to tell you how I'm doing. I'm smiling a lot, especially in the morning when I wake up. I sometimes even smile in the evenings, that is when I'm fussiest. I have found out that I can suck on my fingers, sometimes one or two at a time and sometimes my whole fist. I love to stick out my tongue! I don't take a pacifier very much, but it can help me settle when I'm really, really tired. I'm cooing and talking more, but Mommy and Daddy don't seem to know what I'm saying, but they always talk back. Mommy can't understand why every time we go to church I blow out my diaper and have to have my clothes changed. The outfit I'm wearing in the picture only lasted about 45 minutes before Mommy had to change me! It's a good thing she always remembers to bring extra clothes. Grandmummy says Mommy should dress me in everyday clothes first and then put on the church clothes after the blowout.

Mommy and Daddy put me on a new nighttime schedule that is working pretty well. I eat at 9 p.m. and then go to sleep until 2 a.m. and then Mommy feeds me again. Then I sleep until 7 a.m. (sometimes, he he he). Mommy likes the schedule pretty well, even though she has to feed me about every 2 hours during the day. Well, I'm getting tired so I think I'll take a nap. Talk to you soon!!!

Going to church

It was Pumpkins first time wearing a hair bow. She didn't seem to mind it. She kind of looks like a boy (well, people sometimes call her a boy) so I thought maybe I should start doing the bow thing. I think her car seat throws people off because it is gray and green and it doesn't look girly. Anyway, I think she looked very cute in her little Pooh dress. (FYI, she was buckled into her swing, it just doesn't look like it.)
